May 2026
The main event for coastal wines, with a strong focus on popular regional wines such as Malvasia and Teran.

The traditional Jelsa Wine Festival on Hvar Island, ongoing since 1952. While it was once an event to empty old wine barrels before the autumn harvest, it is now a major event where you can savor the finest quality wines from Hvar Island. In addition to water polo in the harbor and a unique traditional competition of climbing a 10-meter pole to grab prosciutto, you can also enjoy Klapa (traditional a cappella) concerts and spectacular fireworks. It's the perfect opportunity to taste the exquisite wines produced by the island's diverse terroir, including golden white wines and ruby-red wines blessed by the sun.
