"Il Primo," born from ancient vines planted in 1972, is a world-class masterpiece that the Fakin family takes pride in. Made exclusively from carefully hand-picked Teran grapes, this is a special bottle that expresses the terroir of Istria in its purest and most powerful form.
Tasting Notes
■ Appearance and Aroma
A deep, rich ruby red. Intense aromas of marasca cherry, ripe dark berries, and tertiary notes of premium dark chocolate intertwine complexly.
■ Flavor
A rich, full-bodied structure. Vibrant acidity gives the wine liveliness, and velvety tannins lead to a long, intense finish.
■ Serving Temperature
16℃ to 18℃. Enjoy the time for the aroma to slowly open up in a large glass.
Artisan Winemaking
The ancient vines of the "Flaminio" vineyard deeply absorb minerals from the earth, producing grapes with astonishing concentration.
Aged for 24 months in 225L small French oak barrels. Fermentation using only wild yeasts expresses a unique terroir.
White Soil "Terra Bianca"
The white soil of Motovun, a town that retains its medieval charm, is rich in limestone.
This environment bestows upon the Teran grape a pleasant freshness and a strong backbone that allows for long-term aging, leading to world-class recognition (Falstaff 95pts).
