The Story

Georgia's Ancient Rkatsiteli Variety and Respect for Nature
Rkatsiteli is one of the world's oldest grape varieties, indigenous to Georgia, known for its vibrant acidity and ability to produce complex, structured wines. Its name, meaning "red stem," refers to a distinctive feature of the plant.

Unlike many traditional Georgian amber wines, this special cuvée is harvested from 45-year-old vines and directly pressed into stainless steel tanks (direct press) without skin contact to preserve the grape's delicate aromatics. It is fermented with wild yeasts, then bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfites. The name "Pheasant's Tears" comes from a Georgian folk tale that says only a truly perfect wine can make a pheasant weep tears of joy. This legendary winery continues to set a global standard for authentic, minimal-intervention winemaking.

Vineyard & Terroir

Terroir of Bodbeviskhevi Village, Kakheti Region
The 45-year-old vines are planted on north-facing slopes with a unique sandstone and alluvial soil. This specific microclimate provides a cooling effect, allowing the grapes to maintain a vibrant, refreshing acidity even under Georgia's warm sun.
