Georgia's Signature Grape "Rkatsiteli" and Traditional Qvevri Winemaking

Meaning "red stem," Rkatsiteli is Georgia's most representative indigenous white grape variety with thousands of years of history. Known for its rich acidity and ability to produce full-bodied amber wines with good structure, it forms the foundation of traditional winemaking in the Kakheti region.

The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Only wild yeasts are used for fermentation, which takes place in traditional clay vessels called "qvevri," buried deep underground. After a long 6-month maceration period with skins, seeds, and stems (chacha), the wine is bottled unfiltered, with minimal addition of sulfites.

With its structured tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavorful umami, this powerful Rkatsiteli pairs perfectly with rich, spicy, and substantial dishes.
