EPIPHANIE FETEASCA NEAGRA 2019
As the name "Epiphany" suggests, this Romanian masterpiece will revolutionize your perception of wine with just one sip. Enjoy the concentrated richness, a true "dark revelation," born from the fusion of ancient soil and modern sophistication.
Tasting Notes
■ Appearance: Deep ruby red. A rich hue suggesting aging potential.
■ Aroma: Intense fruit aromas of blackberry and plum. Black pepper, nutmeg, chocolate, and vanilla layer complexly, accompanied by the vibrant scent of violets.
■ Taste: Powerful tannins and vibrant acidity form a grand structure. Black fruit jam and spices burst on the palate, followed by a long, elegant finish.
To maximize its potential, we strongly recommend decanting 1 hour before serving.
This is currently the most notable iconic Eastern European wine, continually winning gold medals at international competitions (such as Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2024).
The Story
The Soul of Romania: "Black Maiden"
Feteasca Neagra, meaning "Black Maiden," is Romania's premier indigenous grape variety. It reveals its true value with aging and holds world-class potential.
Concentration born from incredibly low yields
The harsh calcareous soil of Sarica-Niculițel in Dobrogea. By limiting yields to an astonishingly low 3 tons per hectare, we have captured rare minerals and fruit power in the bottle. It is aged for 12 months in new barrels and then for over 12 months in the bottle.
Food Pairing
Recommended Pairings: Hearty Meat Dishes and Game
With its high alcohol content of 14.9% and robust structure, rich dishes are ideal.
・Herb-roasted lamb (harmonizes with the spice notes)
・Genghis Khan (lamb barbecue) (acidity cuts through fat, highlighting umami)
・Bolognese or game ragu
Serving Temperature: 16℃〜18℃
"The power of a premium Napa Cabernet combined with the soul-stirring spice unique to this variety. This is truly a shocking bottle worthy of the name 'Epiphany,' which will fully reveal its potential with 5-7 years of aging."
