Tasting Notes

■ Appearance: Bright straw yellow. Golden reflections shimmer beautifully in the glass.

■ Aroma: An inviting bouquet of honeysuckle and ripe peach, layered with fresh notes of lemon peel and green apple. Delicate white wildflowers evoke a clean, mineral character like wet stone.

■ Palate: Very clean and well-structured. It has a smooth, buttery texture from sur lie aging, a lively acidity characteristic of Rebula, and a subtle almond nuance on the finish, all beautifully harmonized.

Wine Tasting Visualization
Enjoying the complexity of aging

The 2019 vintage, aged in stainless steel tanks, is currently at its peak drinking window. You'll notice how the initial citrus notes have evolved over the years into a complex minerality of honeyed fruit and flint.

The Story

The Soul of Brda, Slovenia
KRAŠNO is produced in the heart of "Goriška Brda," Slovenia's renowned region located on the border with Italy. On the steep slopes of this area, where the warm winds of the Adriatic Sea meet the cold winds of the Alps, the indigenous Rebula grape expresses its true individuality. It's a free and refined white wine that embodies the essence of the land.

Vineyard & Terroir

The magical soil "Opoka"
The identity of this wine is determined by the unique local soil, called "Opoka," which consists of marl (mudstone) and sandstone. This harsh environment, which drains well and encourages the grapevines' roots to grow deep into the ground, gives the wine its distinctive salinity and deep minerality.

Sustainability & Tech Specs

World's First "Green Key" Certified Sustainable Production
Klet Brda was the world's first winery to receive the "Green Key" certification in 2019, recognized for its biodiversity protection and reduced environmental impact. They practice sustainable winemaking that coexists with nature, including maintaining green belts to protect bees and beneficial insects.

■ Technical Data:

  • Harvest: All grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked (100% manual harvesting) from terraced vineyards at an altitude of 80m to 200m.
  • Fermentation: Temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 14℃ to preserve fresh primary aromas.
  • Aging: Several months of "sur lie" aging (on lees). Depth is achieved without the use of oak.
  • Vine Age: Vines are 10-25 years old, planted at a high density of 4,000-5,000 vines per hectare.

Sommelier/Winemaker Avatar

"From the first sip, I was struck by the 'correctness' of its structure. The progression from the elegant honeysuckle aroma to the smooth, buttery finish is captivating once experienced. It's a connoisseur's choice that will significantly elevate any meal."
