A fragrant, extremely dry surprise brought by Bulgaria. An elegant approach to traditional aromatic varietals, overturning the concept of Eastern European white wines.
Tasting Notes
■ Appearance: Brilliant pale gold with shimmering green hues.
■ Aroma: An enchanting and exotic bouquet of traditional lychee and Turkish Delight (rose petal) is complemented by vibrant notes from delicate touches of white peach, ginger spice, and grapefruit zest.
■ Taste: Surprisingly crisp and fresh, with an extremely dry taste. Unlike many Gewürztraminer wines that tend to be heavy and sweet, this one features a mineral-driven palate.
It maintains a beautiful balance between intense floral aromas and a flavorful, elegant, long-lasting finish. Enjoy a sophisticated dry finish that overturns the conventional image of "sweet" Gewürztraminer.
The Story
Minimal human intervention to express true terroir
Rossidi is an artisanal boutique winery located in the Thracian Valley. Established by Eduardo Kurián and winemaker Peter Georgiev, it produces limited edition wines that embody elegance and finesse, capturing the inherent beauty of the vineyards of Nikolaevo.
Food Pairing
The exotic aroma and crisp, dry taste of this Gewürztraminer make it a very versatile partner for spicy, fragrant, and umami-rich dishes.
- ■ Spicy Thai Green Curry – Perfectly complements aromatic herbs and coconut milk, while the crisp acidity mellows the spiciness.
- ■ Sushi and Sashimi – The subtle ginger and floral nuances create a beautiful bridge to the delicate flavors of the fish.
Serving temperature: 8℃ to 10℃ (Enjoy its true richness at this temperature range)
Vineyard & Terroir
The unique microclimate of Nikolaevo village
The vineyards around Nikolaevo benefit from a unique microclimate within the Thracian Valley. Cool night temperatures preserve essential, vibrant acidity in the grapes, while well-drained soils allow grape roots to delve deep, contributing to the wine's distinctive mineral structure and crispness.
"I am always looking for wines that surprise me, and Rossidi's approach to Gewürztraminer is truly a revelation. This is exactly the kind of high-quality, boutique Eastern European wine I look forward to pouring here in Japan." — Deyan / Owner
