Piquentum Teran 2022
Located in an old renovated water reservoir in Buzet on the Istrian peninsula, "Piquentum" is the passion project of French-Croatian winemaker Dimitri Brečević. Dedicated to organic farming and natural winemaking, he captures the pure and unadorned voice of the Istrian terroir, producing wines with extraordinary energy, honesty, and soul.

Teran is the powerful indigenous red grape variety of Istria, historically valued for its deep color, wild berry flavors, and naturally high acidity. Grapes are hand-harvested from organically grown old vines and undergo natural fermentation with wild yeasts at uncontrolled temperatures. Aged in old wooden barrels to soften the edges without masking the fruit, it is bottled completely unfiltered with minimal sulfur additions to preserve its pure and vibrant character.

The wine's vibrant acidity and earthy fruit profile refresh the palate, making it a surprisingly versatile food companion.
